Suspended cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones is scheduled to speak with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell about being allowed to play this season, according to reports.
Pacman’s list of troubles is too long for me to keep up with. The Tennessean lists two legal matters I think will keep him from playing this season:
– An evidentiary hearing to determine whether he will face trial in a Las Vegas strip club incident will be held on Nov. 27. He faces two felony charges of coercion from the Feb. 19 melee that led to a triple shooting.
– His trial in Georgia on a felony charge of obstruction was continued to March.
Nevertheless, I expect Pacman to be in a Titans uniform next season, for two reasons. One, he hasn’t been convicted of anything. Two, he’s very, very talented.
Ideally, you don’t want a player on your roster who always seems to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. However, what’s worse is a talented player who is disruptive in the locker room. Since you can’t undo your draft decision in 2005, if I were the Titans G.M., I’d take my chances on the 24-year old Jones.
